HIP (Highly Immersive Programme) was introduced by the Ministry of Education (MoE) in 2016 with the aim of improving the English proficiency of students by increasing their exposure to the language through a variety of activities within and beyond the classroom. Maxis eKelas plays the role of community supporters by contributing in creating an English-speaking environment. Since 2019, our English competitions has been recognized by the MOE under Bahagian Sukan, Kokurikulum dan Kesenian as one of the activities under the HIP.

The HIP English StoryFest Competition is a combination of learning modules, workshops and task-based competition which focuses on Speaking/Storytelling and Essay Writing that students can participate in to win prizes offered by eKelas as well as accumulate PAJSK or co-curricular points at their respective schools. By joining this competition, participants will be able to brush up their English speaking and writing skills through our learning modules and workshops. Once participants completed the modules and learning videos available in the eKelas portal, they can choose either one of two tasks given:

• a. To write an essay based on provided topics, OR
• b. To record a video of the student telling a story based on a prompted script
